Coastal Christmas programme announced

THE COASTAL Christmas programme of events and festivities was announced this week by the Councillor for Fiestas, Carolina Gracia and the Councillor for the Coast, Bob Houliston.
For the first time the coastal programme has been integrated into the same programme as the city and the villages after being deprived of its own list of events for many years.
The traditional Christmas festivities and celebrations include a Christmas tree lighting ceremony; concerts; a children’s fun village for the school holidays; a free coach trip to Orihuela city to see their famous Belen or nativity display and a New Year’s Eve party complete with a large screen to see the celebrations at the Puerta del Sol in Madrid with cava, grapes and live music.
Bob told RTN: “I would like to thank Carolina and her team for their hard work and dedication to ensure that the coast gets as a good a programme of activities as possible over Christmas, New Year and the Three Kings celebrations.”
The full programme of events will be included in next week’s RTN but in the meantime, next Monday, 12th December at 8pm, the Christmas tree at the La Zenia church, off the N332, will be lit during a special ceremony. Everyone is invited to go along and enjoy the event.
